AIR POLLUTION

INTRODUCTION

Air pollution is contamination of pollutants in air .These pollutants are very harmful for our health and it also harms animals. Nowadays air pollution is a major problem and one or another day this can lead to the destruction of earth and so, it should be prevented. Before we know the preventions we should be aware of it's causes and effects. So, let's begin to know all about air pollution.

CAUSES OF AIR POLLUTION

Some causes of air pollution are as follows -

Burning of garbage, Gasses produced by cars and factories-

Burning of garbage releases many harmful and toxic gases like nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, volatile organic chemicals, carbon dioxide and polycyclic organic matter .

Cutting of trees 

Nature always keep a balance between gasses it knows that which type of gasses can harm and which type of gasses can help us. For example. we inhale oxygen exhaled by trees and trees inhale carbon dioxide exhaled by us. This shows us that cutting of trees should be avoided as trees balance the  eco-system.

Global warming 

The increase in the temperature of earth is called global warming. This is caused due to increase of green house gasses in our environment. The gasses released from burning garbage, factories, car, busses are the causes of global warming. This global warming leads to forest fire and that leads to air pollution. 

EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION

Air pollution has very disastrous effects on us, animals and even nature. some diseases caused by air pollution are as follows -

EFFECTS ON HUMAN AND ANIMALS HEALTH

Some diseases caused by air pollution to humans and animals health are as follows - 

1. Asthma

2. Lung cancer

3. Pneumonia

4. Leukaemia

5. Cardiovascular Diseases

6. Weakening of Lung Function

7. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Air pollution also effects ozone layer 

As we know that our earth is surrounded by a thin layer known as the ozone layer. This thin layer protects us from UV or ultraviolent rays of the sun. Nowadays this layer is getting  more thinner and thinner day by day. it is on the stage to be vanished and if it vanished then, UV rays will give birth to many deathful diseases like skin cancer. 

ACID RAIN

Acid rain is rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it has elevated levels of hydrogen ions. This rain is very  harmful. 

HOW TO PREVENT AIR POLLUTION

Here are some steps to prevent air pollution -

1. Plant more and and more trees

2. Use CNG or electric vehicles

3. Avoid using polythene and other plastic containers

4. Follow 3r's system

5. Avoid crackers

6. Using public transports

7. Use filters for chimney

8. say no to smoking
